Renowned for his adept fingerpicking and inspiring singing, Bostonian- turned-Oklahoman guitarist and singer Tom Pevear revitalizes classic Blues, Folk, Bluegrass, and Country songs while also crafting original compositions that capture his experiences on the road.
Pevear performs over 250 shows each year throughout the central United States and has shared stages with artists such as The Greyhounds, John Fullbright, Ken Pemeroy, and The Damnations. He has also graced numerous festivals including the Weston Roots Festival, the Oklahoma International Bluegrass Festival, and the Mammoth Festival.
“Tom takes great care in honoring those who came before him while also infusing traditional styles with fresh energy. He is a remarkable torchbearer of Acoustic Folk and Blues music,” observes Matt Tedder.
Songs For The Road by Tom Pevear harkens back to early Doc Watson and Tony Rice records; a nice guitar, a few good mics, and a batch of great songs. Recorded in single takes during a time of busy touring, Songs For The Road covers territory from Country Blues, to Gospel, to Bluegrass, with traditional songs and originals arranged and presented with Pevear’s unique approach.
It’s a record to be listened while living every day life—whether that’s cruising blue highways, sitting around the campfire, or grilling with friends in the yard.
Tom Pevear’s new album, “Songs For The Road,” is now available on Vinyl & CD.
