A.J. FULLERTON
A.J. Fullerton is a Nashville-based roots-rock artist whose virtuosic slide guitar, soulful vocals, and dynamic songwriting have made him a standout in the contemporary blues and americana scenes.
Originally from Montrose, Colorado, Fullerton was immersed in the sounds of his father’s record collection from a young age. This early exposure laid the foundation for his distinctive fingerpicking, bottleneck slide techniques, and use of unconventional tunings. He cites a few of his influences as Mississippi John Hurt, Ry Cooder, Albert Collins, The Wood Brothers, Blake Mills, Garret Mason, Keith Hallett, Paul Reddick, Steve Marriner, Patrick Sweany, Junior Kimbrough, Taj Mahal, and R.L. Burnside.
Over the past decade, Fullerton has built a reputation as a prolific performer, producer, and collaborator. He has opened for acts such as Robert Cray, Jimmie Vaughan, Samantha Fish, Charlie Musselwhite, Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, The Record Company, Otis Taylor, and more.
His 2021 album, The Forgiver & The Runaway, produced by Canadian multi-instrumentalist Steve Marriner, debuted at #1 on the iTunes Blues Charts and topped the Colorado Roots Report. The album features an all-star cast of musicians, including guest harmonica players Jake Friel and Paul Reddick.
Beyond his solo work, Fullerton has made significant contributions as a producer and songwriter. He co-wrote and produced Memphis, TN artist Tony Holiday’s album Motel Mississippi, which debuted at #6 on the Billboard Blues Charts in April 2023. He has also worked with artists like Grant Sabin and Sweet Virginia, producing albums that blend traditional elements with contemporary influences.
Gitcha Records is happy to release his 4th studio record “Magnetic Light”(2025) as well as his sophomore release “The Forgiver & The Runaway” (2021).
